Gold Line Ratio Calculator
Size a gold line end to end: sand in, water needed, gold out, and what the slag branch adds. Change any rate to match what you measure in your own save.
No official throughput rates have been published for Sandustry. Rather than print invented figures, this calculator treats every rate as your input. The defaults are labelled with where they came from — one is a community estimate, the rest are neutral placeholders. The arithmetic is what this tool gives you; the measurements have to come from your save.
Measuring a rate: build the machine, let it run for 60 seconds against a full input, count the output, divide.
How the maths works
Nothing here is hidden, so you can check it against your own line:
- Wet sand/s = sand/s (one unit of sand makes one unit of wet sand)
- Water/s = sand/s × water per sand
- Shakers = ceil(wet sand/s ÷ shaker capacity/s)
- Gold/s from shakers = wet sand/s × gold chance
- Slag/s = wet sand/s × slag per pass
- Presses = ceil(slag/s ÷ press capacity/s)
- Gold/s from slag = slag/s × gold per burnt slag
Machine counts round up, because a fractional machine still clogs. If the calculator says 2.1 shakers, you need three — or you need to throttle the feed, which is usually the better answer. Seestopping shakers and filters clogging.
Why the defaults are mostly blank
Sandustry has not published machine throughput figures, and the demo period did not produce a community consensus set either. Printing confident numbers would make this tool look more useful and be less useful. When Early Access data can be read out of the shipped game files, the confirmed rates will replace these placeholders, and the labels will change from Not documented to Confirmed.
